This is a copy of the genealogy of the Bhatpara Bhattacharyya clan made on Dec 7 2006 (when it was at the website bhattacharya.us. They are unusual because they are of Sandilya gotra, but derive their genealogy from Vedagarbha. See their page for details and updates.

A Tapas K. Bhattacharya is Shandilya and has a Y haploype R1a1a (2010 nomenclature; previously R1a1). There is also another short Bhattachraya genealogy genealogy on the web; haven't checked if either of these connect up to the Bhatpara Bhattacharyas.

22. Dananjoy who moved to Tajpur in Midnapore when Meteri went into Ganga in mid-18th century; Sadashib; Mahadev
23. Atmaram or Ramkanta who married Parameswari and shifted to Shyampur in Howrah where he built the Shivamandir.
24. Ramjiban, whose decendants include Dr. Brahmamohan of Bindubasani Road, Bhatpara, Rammohan of Bakulbagan Road, Calcutta, Sankariprasad of Joyram Naibhusan Lane, Bhatpara; and Padmalochan who swam across Damodar with his wife Radhamani, nephew, and Damodar Jeu, and settled in Bhatpara and Atpur, and whose descendants are listed below.
25. Ramkumar had three wives, first of whome was Brahmamai.
26. Sitaram Tarkapanchanan whose descendants include Manimoham, Sachindra, Haricharam, Amarkrishna, Prankrishna and Siddeswar Bhattacharyya; Chandrasekhar Nairatna who was born in Bengali 1204, died 11th Baishakh 1310 and married Brahmamayee or Premamayee, daughter of Ramvishnu of Bhatpara; Sivaram whose wife was Baidehi; Sambhuram whose wife was Sreemati; and Ramkrishna whose wife was Nistarini and who had no children.
27. Sivaram had Rakhal whose wife was Bhabatarini; Ganapati whose wife was Sarnamai; and Kamalapati whose wife was Gangamani. Sambhuram had Bisnu; Maheswar; and Bholanath. Chandrasekhar was sava pandit, and his photograph was commissioned by Lord Ripon and hangs in the Victoria memorial, an he had Kenaram who married Matangini and whose decendants include Prof. Bhudhar of Manirampur and Kali Bhattacharyya of Kantalpara; Krishnadhan, who was born on 24th Kartik 1258, died on 30th Magh 1310, married Nabhakumari, daughter of Nilmadhav of Bindubasini, Bhatpara, and built his house in Sastitala, Bhatpara; and Mahendra.

Binodbehari, who died an infant; Santa, born in 1285 and wife of Panchanan of Bhatpara whose descendants are listed below; and Panchanan, born 4 Kartik 1289, died 1st Phalgun 1333, married Rajlakhi, daughter of Sasodhar of Bhatpara; Manorama, born in 1291, and wife of Kashinath Bhattacharya of Bhatpara; Rashmohan born in 1295 and married Sailabala, daughter of Amalcharan Bhattacharyya of Barrackpore; Paresnath, born 11th Sraban 1299, died 16th Baishakh 1349, and married Sushama, daughter of Binodbehari of Bhatpara; Taraknath born in 17th Kartik 1304 who founded the Sadhu AShram at Bhatpara and married Subarnalata, daughter of Manmathonath; and Sukumari, born 9th Chaitra, 1309, and wife of Haricharan of Bhatpara.

Rashmohan had Narayan, born Sep 1 1913 and married Atulana, daughter of Ramhari of Bhatpara; Mahadev, born Feb 1 1918 and married Santilata, daughter of Baloram of Bhatpara; Mohitchandra, born June 21 1920, died Dec 13 1947 and married Supriti, daughter of Nibarankumar of Guptipara; Sitalchandra, born Dec 23 1922 and married Karuna, daughter of Kanailal of Bhatpara; Benimadhav, born Sept 5 1926 and married Bijoya, daughter of Bhupendranath of Purbastali, and Maya born on April 20 1934 married Satyajiban of Bhatpara. Sukumar had Bhasyati born Dec 2 1953 married Biswapriya of Behala; Madhumita born Sept 28 1960 married Parathsarathi of Salt Lake Ciry, Calcutta; Jiyita born Dec 10 1965, married Arijit, brother of Parthasarathi; and Ishita, born Feb 9 1973 married Uddaloke of Belghariah and USA. Santosh had Khuku who died within 10 days; Devashish, born Nov 12 1959 married Sudhakshina, daughter of Subhendu Mukherjee of Alipore, Calcutta; Abhijit, born Nov 15 1964 married Tuktuk, daughter of Himalananda Mukherjee of Salt Lake City, Calcutta. Mritunjoy had Arunima born Sep 13 1960 married Madhukar Sharma; Amit born Dec 13 1963 died Jan 14 1991; and Arunava born Jun 4 1974.

Sadananda had Ashoka, born Apr 9 1964, married Sumit Chakraborty; Paramita, born Sept 24 1969 married Ranjan Banerjee of Howrah; and Chandradeep born Mar 16 1981. Manoj had Manojit born Jun 8 1974, married Subhasree daughter of Krishnakumar Mandal of Calcutta and the USA; and Monojit born Feb 7 1976, married Bijoyita daughter of Goutam Mondal. Dayananda had Debjyoti born Nov 1995; and Deepshikha born May 4 1998.

I also got contacted by a Gopal Bhattacharya of a family that came from kanauj via faridpur, then shyampur, then halisahar, and finally settled in bhAtpArA. and whose grandfather was Jagatdurlabh Bhattacharya, ex-editor-in-chief of Gupta Press Panjika, whose son Shivapada Bhattacharya is founder of dInabandhu vidyAlaYa. Gopal's father's uncle shrIjIva nyAYatIrtha (who lives a few houses south) was son of paJcAnana tarkaratna (There are two by that name in 28 above). Jagatdurlabh's brother-in-law was brahmamohana bhaTTAcAryya of bindubasini road mentioned above.
